Is it Monk's diner or is it Tom's ????

On the second day we got up late and headed uptown to near Columbia University. We are both big fans of the T.V. show Seinfeld. With that in mind, the place we headed for was the restaurant that they use for the external shots of "Monk's diner, the place where Seinfeld and gang sit and talk abdout nothing.
Yup, its me under that scarf and hat.

The actual restaurant is Tom's Restaurant on the corner of Broadway and 112th Street. Tom's is also the place that Suzanne Vega sung about in her hit song "Tom's Diner". Once we got to Tom's Diner we went inside and had some good old fashioned American Fayre. The food was great and I have to say I had the best Turkey burger I have ever had.
Just because Bruce is behind me doesn't mean anything...honest !

On Friday night we went to Greenwich village for a curry and then we went to a great British pub called The Red Lion.
Cool shades Elvis.

Here we are in "The Red Lion" in Greenwich village. And Elvis Costello happened to be right beside us on the wall.
All aboard ! We did a few other things while in the city: We visited the Metropolitan Museum and saw the famous picture of Washington crossing the Delaware. We did a lot of walking but mostly we got from place to place using the subway. On the left is a picture I took of Dawn down in the Grand Central station. We were catching a train from one of the green lines up to Times Square.
